Ann is perhaps best known for her role as Cora Cross in Eastenders and for her award winning role as the strong, vulnerable Dolly Rawlins in Lynda La Plante's Widows, Widows II and She's Out, which was written for her by Lynda.
 

Her work spans drama and comedy and also includes direction, writing and teaching.

In 2016 Ann was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Arts by the University of East London.
 

Ann is a Trustee of the Unity Theatre Trust, Patron of The Sussex Beacon, Patron of Trauma Foundation South West, and Patron of Clean Break.
