Ways to Support
Get Involved
Partner with us to make a difference
There are many ways to get involved and support our work. You can sign up to our quarterly newsletter and social media to stay trauma informed, connected and be the first to know about job and volunteer vacancies with us.
Or set up a regular donation as an individual or contact us to explore leaving TFSW a gift in your will via the links below.
Participating in Soul to Sole, a walking and running fundraiser, puts the soul of our work into the sole of your feet. Or, host an event in your community or sell copies of our recipe book “Your Table or Mine”.
We are always interested in how we can partner with other organisations, so please get in touch if you have an idea. And if you already partner with us, don’t forget to recommend our training and supervision to others who may benefit.
However you choose to support us, we are deeply grateful. Every action helps make trauma-informed care possible for people who would otherwise be left without support.
“I rely on Trauma Foundation South West always being there. There’s no-one else who offers that longer-term psychotherapy, which is vital for long-term healing. What comes with that is a meaningful ability to supervise and train other people, including our staff. TFSW staff are so intuitive, and with skills I’ve never found in another organisation.”
Mary Griggs, Consultant Clinical Psychologist/Team Leader The Hope Service for Refugees, NHS
Fundraise with us
There are lots of ways you can support what we do through fundraising. You might take on a challenge like Soul to Sole - walking or running to put the soul of our work into the sole of your feet. Alternatively organise an event, or get sell copies of our recipe book “Your Table or Mine”.
Whatever you choose, your fundraising helps ensure refugees and people seeking asylum can access trauma-informed therapy when they need it most.
Individual donations
You can set up a regular or one-off donation, no matter how small. As a charity we rely on donations to provide specialist trauma therapy for people who are excluded from public services and unable to afford private counselling.
If you're familiar with counselling, you'll know just how vital this support is. For people living with the impacts of trauma and ongoing uncertainty, access to therapy isn't a luxury - it can be life-saving.
Leaving a gift in your will
You can also help ensure this support is there for future generations by leaving a legacy gift to TFSW in your will. Gifts of any size make a lasting difference, and legacies help us plan ahead with confidence, so we can keep offering trauma-informed therapy to survivors of war, displacement, trafficking, and torture for years to come. If you'd like to talk about leaving a legacy gift, or need wording for your solicitor, please get in touch - we're happy to help.
For organisations
How we support and develop organisations
We believe employers can play a vital role in supporting refugees and people seeking asylum. By partnering with us, your company can:
Engage your employees by offering training programmes that foster empathy and cultural understanding.
Demonstrate your commitment to social responsibility and community impact helping you to deliver your CSR/ESG goals.
Drive positive change by contributing to building a more inclusive and compassionate society.
Creating welcoming and inclusive workplaces
By providing your employees with training on trauma-informed care, cultural sensitivity, and effective communication, you can equip them with the skills needed to create a more welcoming and inclusive workplace. Our training programmes can help your staff:
Develop empathy and gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of refugees and asylum seekers.
Learn how to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Foster a more inclusive workplace, creating a welcoming environment for all employees.
The impact of partnering with us
In addition to financial or in-kind donations, your company can make a significant impact by exploring a strategic partnership with us. By aligning your company's values and goals with TFSW's mission, you can create a lasting legacy of support for refugees and asylum seekers while also benefiting from the positive outcomes for you and your teams.
For companies with specialised skills or resources, offering pro-bono support can be invaluable. Whether it's providing legal advice, accounting services, or technical expertise, your contributions can help us address critical needs and improve the lives of those we serve.
