Our Refugee Week 2026: Bristol Refugee Festival

The theme of this year’s Refugee Week has been courage. Courage has so many meanings across the sector: the courage of people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in the UK; of frontline workers facing increasing pressure; of communities choosing to act with care and compassion.

Courage is one of TFSW’s three values. To us, it means facing trauma together.

As we found our place within the colourful array of information stall owners at this year’s Bristol Refugee Festival, we took the opportunity to ask festival goers what courage meant to them. Here’s what they wrote.
