Welcome to TFSW News
A Season of Renewal and Recognition
Spring 2025 has brought with it celebrations of Persian New Year (Nowruz), Ramadan, and Eid, reminding us of the diversity and strength within our community. To all who have been celebrating, we send our warmest wishes.
Over the past quarter, TFSW has provided long-term therapy to 39 survivors of trauma. Behind this number are stories of courage and healing, made possible thanks to your generous support. We are proud of the tangible difference these sessions make in people’s lives and are grateful for your commitment to helping us continue this vital work.
Welcoming Nicola Hill
We’re thrilled to announce that Nicola Hill has joined the TFSW team! Nicola brings a wealth of experience and passion to her role, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact of her in the months ahead.
A Farewell and Gratitude
After over three years of dedicated service, Katie Hope has moved on from her role with us. Katie's impact has been profound, transforming TFSW into a more structured and professional organisation while preserving the heart and passion instilled by Judy.
As Katherine Cox, our Director of Services, beautifully put it:
"Katie is an amazing and rare person who manages to combine exceptional insight, empathy and skill as a therapist and supervisor with equally exceptional skill at managing systems, processes, budgets and fundraising. I didn't know before that these could co-exist within one human being! We are truly blessed to have benefited from her skill and equally blessed that she continues to be part of TFSW as a sessional supervisor. Thank you, Katie!”
Standing Against the Hostile Environment
We remain deeply concerned about the UK’s Hostile Environment policies, particularly the new Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill, which continues to harm vulnerable communities. At TFSW, we are committed to advocating for compassionate, rights-based approaches. We encourage you to explore the Migration Exchange handbook for crucial strategies and insights, and to follow their powerful blog series.
We believe in the strength of collective action. Our training sessions aim to equip professionals with trauma-informed tools that not only support survivors but also help create more just systems.
Thank you for being part of our community. Together, we are fostering safety, hope, and healing.
